The Bird Advocacy Foundation was founded to bridge a gap in charities available to champion bird welfare. Currently, in Australia there is no charitable organisation that stands against inhumane and unethical means of bird deterrence or control. Unfortunately, the Bird Advocacy Foundation is the only current non for profit wildlife charity that advocates against culling or bird control methods that can cause bird species harm. Others support “humane culling” of which the Bird Advocacy Foundation would argue a) there is no such thing b) that culling threatens bird species populations and is irresponsible.

Further, whilst there are a number of smaller charities that support and protect birds, these are primarily focused on small geographical footprints. The Bird Advocacy Foundation is an advocate and supporter of bird rights and welfare across Australia and New Zealand.
